About Whey Protein Concentrate
Whey Protein Concentrate is considered the best protein product for quality when value for money is considered. Whey Protein Concentrate is less refined than Whey Protein Isolate and contains around 77% protein in raw form, with carbohydrates and fats ranging from 4 to 9%.
WPC has one of the highest PDCAA scores for any protein source, outperforming plant and other animal protein forms. Whey Protein Concentrate contains moderate levels of lactose, so is not the best choice for people with digestion issues due to lactose.

Why is Whey Protein Concentrate the best choice?
Whey Protein Concentrate is the most cost-effective form of Whey Protein, which in itself has the highest biological value of any protein source.
WPC generally contains around 6% fats, 7% carbohydrates and 77% of protein which makes it suitable any time of the day, and works well as a post workout protein source, especially if fasted.
How much lactose does Whey Protein Concentrate contain?
Whey Protein Concentrate contains around 2-3 grams of lactose per serve which is five times less than a glass of milk.
People that are lactose intolerant are best to use WPI (as it contains very little lactose), a protein blend with a digestive enzyme or another form of protein like a plant protein or hydrolysed collagen which are both lactose free.
Does Whey Protein Concentrate contain gluten?
Gluten is not naturally occurring in any of the ingredients in our Whey Protein Concentrate, though we do process other gluten containing ingredients in our facility.
How many serves of WPC should I have each day?
Activity levels, gender and muscle mass all affect this question. It is typical for athletes and people trying to gain muscle to consume approximately 2 grams of protein per kg of bodyweight per day, which equals 180 grams of protein for a 90kg person.
If you consume 2 shakes a day of WPC, this will contribute a little under 50 grams to your daily protein target.
Why is WPC better than getting protein from food?
WPC is a very pure, economical form of protein and for an equal quantity of protein, it compares very well to the cost of meat, tuna, dairy etc.
Having one of the highest PDCAA protein scores (protein bioavailability) it can be more effective than other proteins on a per gram basis too and will be lower in fats and carbohydrates than most high protein food sources ().
How soon should I drink WPC after mixing it with water?
While WPC is very stable in powdered form this changes when mixed with water. Once mixed with water, WPC should be mixed within an hour. It can last more than 24 hours once blended with water, but only if refrigerated.
