Why We Have Our Products Tested

At Bulk Nutrients, we understand the importance of ensuring our athletes have confidence in the products they’re consuming.

While we pride ourselves on using high quality ingredients to provide our affordable nutrition supplements, we decided to take an extra step.

By sending our products to be tested by Human and Supplement Testing Australia (HASTA), we can add an extra layer of protection for athletes to know they’re fuelling their body with everything they need to get the best out of their performance – and nothing they shouldn’t be consuming.

What Testing Looks Like

In order to say our products are HASTA certified, they undergo several rounds of labour intensive testing.

HASTA verifies each product after testing multiple samples of the product from different batches.

As the supplier, Bulk Nutrients also has to demonstrate that we have a current and comprehensive independent third party audited Quality Assurance system in place in our manufacturing facility.

Once our product receives certification, every new batch made must also be tested to maintain it.

So you can be assured that when you buy a HASTA certified product from Bulk Nutrients, there’s no hidden nasties!

What HASTA Tests Look For

Banned substances by the SIA (Sports Integrity Australia, formerly ASADA)/WADA aren’t necessarily illegal drugs.

Many are perfectly legal but are seen as giving an athlete an unfair advantage when it comes to training, so they have been banned from natural sporting competitions.

For a natural athlete, failing a drug test can destroy their integrity and career, so it’s important to ensure adequate protection.

World Anti Doping Agency

The World Anti Doping Agency, or WADA, is the leader of the collaborative worldwide movement for sport free of performance enhancing drugs.

WADA believes a clean playing field is fair for all.

Several formerly banned items, including alcohol, have been removed from the prohibited list in recent years.

When it comes to dietary and nutritional supplements, WADA recommends caution is taken before use.

It says a significant number of positive tests have been attributed to the misuse of supplements, and attributing an Adverse Analytical Finding to a poorly labelled dietary supplement isn’t an adequate defence in a doping hearing.

According to WADA, use of supplement products that have been subjected to one of the available quality assurance schemes (such as HASTA testing) can help reduce, but not eliminate, the risk of an inadvertent doping infringement.
