Cycling, ironman triathlons and Olympic/traditional triathlons are both disciplines that have an extreme cardiovascular component. Events usually cover many hours and participants require 100 – 200% more than their normal daily caloric intake when participating in these events. A growing category in cycling is BMX, shortened for Bicycle Motocross. In these events, riders perform tricks and stunts around a course, competing for the most points.
Unlike most sports where supplementation generally focuses on after the event and training, these events are so long that supplementation is often utilised before the events begin, which helps sustain the athletes through their events.
Athletes in cycling and ironman/triathlon events do little resistance training, and resistance training is generally restricted to higher repetition muscular endurance work and due to simple efficiency needs, athletes generally stay as lean and light as practically possible. Most training is of a consistent cardiovascular nature, with a focus on monitoring heart rates and increasing Vo2 max.
Our top product for cyclists and triathletes is SportsFuel 101 is a blend of carbohydrates, protein, free form amino acids and electrolytes to assist with energy, hydration, reducing muscle soreness, reducing recovery time and sustaining energy levels throughout an event, it's one awesome product. It would work excellently as a product for BMX competitors, helping them to boost performance and maintain their focus. The power for BMX comes from stored carbohydrates in muscles.
Other products for cyclists and triathletes are Beta Alanine to help increase Vo2 max, Electrolyte Plus to maintain hydration levels while training, Carb+ for sustained energy and glycogen replenishment (great for BMX riders!). A protein such as Protein Matrix+ or Future Whey will help muscles recover faster between training sessions while Cissus Quadrangularis can aid in joint support and inflammation reduction.
BCAAs have countless studies showing benefits in reducing muscle soreness, faster recovery time and a better retention of maximum muscular force. HASTA Certified flavour is Lemonade.
Bulk’s HASTA Certified Whey Protein Isolate is our same great tasting WPI and comes with the added security of each batch being tested for SIA (formerly ASADA)/WADA banned ingredients

What is the difference between an Ironman and a triathlon?
Both an Ironman triathlon and an Olympic triathlon have three main events - a swim, a cycle and a running leg.
An Ironman triathlon is defined as a long-distance race involving a 3.68 kilometre swim, a 180.260 kilometre bike ride and a 42.195 kilometre run (aka a marathon). An Olympic triathlon is a lot easier (comparatively!!) with a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike ride and 10km run.
