Jacob is a 100m and 200m sprinter from Hobart, and he currently holds the Tasmanian 200m sprint record.
He competes all over the world, particularly during the Australian winter and he is currently training for the 2024 Paris Olympics!
Hi guys, I'm Jacob Despard!
I am a 100m & 200m Sprinter from Hobart, Tasmania. I began Athletics in Year 7 and first represented Australia in 2014 at the World Junior Championships in Oregon, USA. I am now one of Australia's Fastest men and hold the Tasmanian 200m State Record. I recently competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. I am now training for the 2024 Paris Olympics as a part of the Australian Athletics Team.
Some highlights of my Athletics journey so far are winning the 2018 Stawell Gift, placing 3rd at the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championship & winning the 2022 Melbourne Track Classic in 10.11s.
Aside from running, I love to travel and athletics has given me the opportunity to see the world while doing what I love. During summer I stay in Australia and race our domestic season, and recently I have been escaping the cold Hobart winter's and heading overseas to race in Europe.

Pre Workout 101
Why I love it: Pre Workout 101 is my favourite bulk product, yes I am a bit of a caffeine addict. Guilty. I really like the taste of it, not to overpowering and is enjoyable to drink. It doesn't matter if I'm at the track or in the gym, I always have Pre Workout 101 with me. I was after a pre workout with Caffeine, Beta Alanine & Creatine. This ticks all the boxes.
How I use it: Double scooped, with 500ml of water.
HASTA Whey Protein Isolate
Why I love it: Perfect for post workout or just extra protein on a rest day. Chocolate only, the best flavour. Tastes great, has all the post workout nutrition I need.
How I use it: 1.5 Scoop, with 500ml of water.
BCAA Recovery
Why I love it: The perfect recovery tool. Speeds up recovery time, tastes great and is HASTA Certified!
How I use it: 3 teaspoons, with 600ml of water.
L Glutamine
Why I love it: Since using L Glutamine I've noticed improved recovery from training and a healthier immune system allowing me to have a higher quality of consistent training.
How I use it: Mix in with my WPI shake.
Jacob's approach to nutrition
I am a very basic guy in terms of food and eating. I very rarely eat a cheat meal. My favourite meals would be either salmon, sweet potato and green veggies, or steak, basmati rice and green veggies. Nice and simple but very nutritious.
What's your average daily calorie intake? Not sure, I don't track calories

Are there foods you crave? Why? Coffee, it contains caffeine HAHA
What's your go-to cheat meal? Pizza
