What is green tea?

Green tea comes from the same plant that produces black, white, and oolong tea, the Camellia sinensis plant. It is manufactured by steaming the tea leaves. Green tea doesn’t go through a similar fermentation process that is used to make other teas like black or oolong tea; therefore, it retains much of its antioxidants and nutrients.

How green tea contributes to weight loss

The body converts food and drinks into energy in a process known as metabolism. When you drink green tea, it helps the body lose weight by making the metabolism process more efficient. Besides, green tea contains caffeine as well as a flavonoid known as catechin which acts as an antioxidant.

Both caffeine and catechin can help hasten the process of metabolism in the body according to researches. Catechin can help with the breakdown of excess fat whilst both caffeine and catechin can elevate the energy an individual’s body uses.

How effective is green tea in weight loss?

The effectiveness of green tea in losing weight is more when an individual combines this with other kinds of weight loss activities like regular exercise and a healthy diet with lots of vegetables.

If you rely on green tea as the only solo method of losing weight, you are unlikely to get any tangible results, however, when you combine it with well-known weight loss strategies like workouts and a healthy diet, the results can be impressive.

How does green tea extract burn fat?

The caffeine in green tea can burn fat and improve your performance in exercises. Whilst a cup of green tea may only hold caffeine of about 24 to 40 mg compared to a cup of coffee that holds 100 to 200 mg, it still has a high enough amount of caffeine to cause a mild effect.

Green Tea Extract is rich in catechins or antioxidants including epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) that can boost metabolism. Green tea can mobilise fat from your fat cells. In order to burn fat, the body needs to first break it down within the fat cells and take it into the bloodstream.

The compounds found in green tea can increase the levels of hormones responsible for telling fat cells to start breaking down fat. When this happens, it allows the fat to be released into the bloodstream thus making it available as energy. During exercises, green tea extract is linked to an increased amount of fat burning.

If you want to lose weight, it’s important that you consider adding green tea into your diet. Remember that green tea alone may not give you better results, so you need to combine it with other methods of losing weight like exercise and a healthy diet to get impressive results. Bulk Nutrients brings you quality green tea extract supplements that you can include in your diet.

How much green tea extract per day for weight loss

Taking around 400 – 800mg of Green Tea Extract in a day is sufficient if you’re looking to supplement weight loss.

Usually, the exact amount you need to take varies from one person to another depending on their natural metabolism and how much caffeine an individual consumes.

Whilst green tea comes in different strengths, when it comes to weight loss, there is likely to be insignificant differences between them. Minimally processed green tea extract tends to retain the richest nutritional content.

Is green tea extract safe?

Green tea is safe to consume, however, having large doses of caffeine is likely to pose problems in people at risk of having heart problems or those with high blood pressure.

Bulk Nutrients Green Tea Extract contains an especially low levels of caffeine compared with drinking Green Tea. If you have a risk of suffering heart problems and blood pressure, you need to minimise the amount of caffeine in green tea you consume, Green Tea Extract is a great alternative.

A study conducted to determine the safety of drinking green tea extract among postmenopausal women who are at risk of suffering from breast cancer indicated that the extract can lead to elevated levels of liver enzymes, which is a sign of possible liver damage similar to the one seen in individuals who abuse alcohol.

That being said, when it comes to weight loss, working a few cups of green tea or supplemental powdered extract form right into your diet is not a bad idea.

Like coffee, green tea can offer you a mild boost. If you do not add sugar, it means that the tea has no calories, so drinking it instead of drinking sugary drinks like soda can assist in cutting calories.

Green Tea Extract has the goodness of what 4 cups of tea tend to provide all condensed into a single capsule so is great for those who do not drink tea and especially don’t drink that much tea!
