Fucoxanthin
Fucoxanthin is part of the carotenoid family (a class of plant pigments with antioxidant effects) and is found naturally in brown seaweeds such as wakame and hijiki.
In research, it has shown to reduce fat mass while inhibiting fat cell differentiation and proliferation, especially the fat around the abdominal area and liver. This makes it a popular ingredient in fat burner products.
Fucoxanthin is also often used as a natural remedy for the following health issues: diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and obesity.
Other studies of Fucoxanthin suggest that it may also reduce inflammation and promote healthy function of the liver, blood vessels, brain, bones, skin and eyes.
