Dave Napper
Dave Napper is a Queensland based veteran of the fitness industry.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional Medicine from Endeavour College, and is registered and insured. He also holds a Certificate 3 and 4 in Fitness, and a blue card. Other qualifications include being a Powerlifting Australia coach and referee, USAPL & APL referee, Australia Strength and Conditioning coach, a Master Functional trainer... and so much more!
Since 2013, Dave has completed more than 40 courses and workshops to help further his self-education and assist in the progress of his clients. Of note include first aid qualifications and CPR courses, Olympic level lifting courses, mobility fundamentals, kinesiology taping and so much more.
The business owner and powerlifting pro is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to fitness and human movement. He started Brisbane North Barbell in early 2014, opening his first gym in September 2014 - moving twice to bigger locations due to demand.
Dave has been a competitive strongman and powerlifter for over a decade. Some of his best raw lifts in sanctioned Powerlifting Australia meets include a 230kg squat, a 187.5kg bench press and a 331kg deadlift - beating the previous Powerlifting Australia record for the 120kg+ weight class at the time.
Some of Dave's notable career achievements include representing Australia at the International Powerlifting Federation World Championships in Finland in 2015, having the 10th biggest raw total (827.5kg!) in Powerlifting Australia history, and taking home the 2023 Powerlifting Australia 120kg and 120kg+ 1st places.
