Everything You Need to Know About Red Fusion
So, what does each ingredient do?
Beetroot
First up is a veggie us Aussie know very well, beetroot!
Beetroot has recently gained popularity as a new ‘superfood’ in the market claiming to help improve athletic performance, lower blood pressure and increase blood flow. The earthy undertone you may taste in Red Fusion will come mainly from the beetroot powder.
While eating all fruits and vegetables is proven to help improve health, beetroot has been shown to help slow the progression of dementia, regulate digestion and reduce inflammation as it contains choline which can help with muscle recovery, sleep and movement.
Beetroot also contains an antioxidant known as alpha-lipoic acid which can help to decrease glucose levels.
Blackberries
Blackberries are packed with vitamin C and K, fibre and manganese. The combined benefits of these vitamins and minerals can help with;
- Improving immune function
- Reducing cholesterol
- Helping to control weight
- Promoting regular bowel movements
- Ensuring blood is clotting
- Promote bone metabolism
- Prevention of osteoporosis
Raspberries
You will likely notice a sweetness about Red Fusion which primarily comes from the real whole powdered raspberries added to the blend.
Raspberries are known as nature’s candy thanks to their sweet taste, but they’re also packed full of nutrients which can help with decreasing the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease, as well as improving skin health and complexion, boosting energy levels and improving memory.
Raspberries contain flavonoids which are linked to cognitive function and heart health as well as antioxidants which support weight control, cancer prevention, improved digestion and disease prevention.
Carrot
Next on the ingredient list is your favourite crunchy veggie, carrot!
Carrot is an excellent source of beta-carotene, biotin, fibre, vitamin K, potassium, vitamin B6 and antioxidants and provides a mild taste.
Carrots get their orange colouring from the beta-carotene, which once ingested, is converted to vitamin A in the body.
Pectin is one of the main fibres found in carrots, which is ideal to help slow digestion and prevent blood glucose spikes. It also helps with feeding the gut good bacteria.
Acai Berry
If you’re a fan of a colourful smoothie bowl you’d know all about acai.
Acai berries are a superfood loaded with antioxidants that can help reduce the damaging effects of radicals in the body which can lead to diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease.
They have also been found to help control cholesterol levels which in turn can help with weight management and help to protect your brain as you age.
Acai berries are commonly consumed as purees, powders and juices (and blended into smoothies), and our Red Fusion is no exception, including acai berry powder to help enhance our blend.
Maca
Maca offers some different benefits than other ingredients in our Red Fusion. Maca powder is sourced from the maca plant originating from Peru and has been made popular as a common ingredient to be added to smoothies and protein powders.
Maca has shown the ability to increase energy, fertility, libido and immunity. Maca can add a smooth caramel, earthy tone to foods, which we believe compliments our Red Fusion mix.
Dandelion Root
The final ingredient is dandelion root. Since it’s a strong ingredient, it doesn’t need to be included at high levels.
Dandelion root contains a high level of vitamin C, K, B vitamins and folate, as well as calcium, magnesium and potassium.
It is also packed with antioxidants, which is just another reason why it has so many health applications. Helping to neutralize negative free radicals in the body that can otherwise have a negative effect on your metabolism, disease, ageing and oxidative stress levels.
Why does Red Fusion have sugar?
Red Fusion contains natural, real ingredients. Which as we mentioned are fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables naturally contain components of sugars, therefore when using natural ingredients, these sugars naturally occur!
We cannot avoid them and at just 2.2g per serve the inclusion is minimal, but be assured they are all naturally occurring and no sugar is actually added to our product.
Red Fusion or Green Fusion?
This is a common question and the answer is both!
Both red and green-based fruits and vegetables offer different benefits. Green Fusion is ideal for detoxification and immunity-boosting, while Red Fusion is full of antioxidants for brain and cell function, as well as immunity and well-being.
Green Fusion has a pretty decent protein level. While per serve, it is not going to add much to your daily intake, per 100g, Green Fusion boasts about 40g of protein! Unfortunately, you can’t consume 100g of Green Fusion (that wouldn’t taste great) as you would be well over your other dietary intakes which can also have adverse effects.
Green Fusion is made up of Spirulina, Wheat Grass, Barley Grass and Chlorella, all completely different ingredients than our new Red Fusion.
This means that Green Fusion provides different high levels of nutrients than our Red Fusion. These include calcium, copper, thiamin, riboflavin, zinc, omega-3’s, niacin, potassium, magnesium, iron, as well as essential amino acids and a range of vitamins.
Try them together in a smoothie, shot back, or one in the morning and the other night. They are perfect to help boost your regular healthy habits.
