The Central Coast Mariners started the 2023-24 ISUZU Ute A-League Season strongly, having taken home the Championship in the 2022-23 season, with a sensational 6-1 victory.
Signing up again to partner with us at Bulk Nutrients, the A-League men's side came in with another strong chance at the season.
The Mariners had a less than perfect start to their campaign, with a loss to Adelaide United in the first round - we think that made clinching the premiership against them that little bit sweeter!
Early in the season saw a big win over A-League rivals the Newcastle Jets, which is where their season really started to kick off.
Throughout the A-League season, the Mariners were concurrently playing in the AFC Cup - with their dominance on the field there strong.
The season saw the Central Coast Mariners have some strong highs (including a 4-0 beating of Western United in December) and some lows, but they rounded out the season with 17 wins from 27 games - ending the season with five straight wins.
Unfortunately, the path to silverware stopped short for the women's A-League side, ending their season fifth on the overall ladder.
Bowing out at the semi finals, a 1-1 draw with Sydney at Leichhardt Oval was their undoing.
They overcame significant challenges throughout the season, with many naysayers not believing the returning team would get so close to reaching the grand final - the semi final fight leaving the women with a point to prove next season!
There's no rest for the Central Coast Mariners! The reigning 2023-24 A-League Premiers have their sights firmly set on what's next.
Not content with just the Premiership plate, the Central Coast Mariners are bringing home the AFC Cup, having secured a 1-0 win over Lebanese side Al-Ahed in Oman in the early hours of Monday, May 6.
They're now heading back to Australia, to compete for the A-League Championships!
Updates to come, as we keep a close eye on their path to success!
