Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway Is Driving Success
In case you weren’t aware, our founder Ben Crowley is a big motorsports fan. Alongside his family, friends and the company, his love of cars and motorsports is right up there on his list of passions!
So when the opportunity came up for Bulk Nutrients to become the naming rights sponsor of Baskerville Raceway in 2023, it was a match made in heaven!
A Partnership Built From Passion
The collaboration between Bulk Nutrients and Baskerville Raceway is continuing our goal of promoting health and fitness across the country.
Working together with Motorsports Tasmania, it’s a significant step towards nurturing the passion for motorsport among the younger generation and introducing the benefits of health and fitness to the wider motorsport community.
It’s that passion for motorsport at a young age that led to the foundations of the partnership – Ben spent many hours of his teenage years watching local and national events at Baskerville.
Promoting Health and Nutrition to the Racing Community
Founder Ben Crowley described supporting Baskerville Raceway and racing in Tasmania as a privilege.
“We look forward to being an active participant at Baskerville, where we hope to encourage drivers and fans young and old to look after their health,” he said.
“It’s important for us at Bulk Nutrients to give back to the community that has supported us over the last 15 years, and working with Baskerville is another example of how we’re supporting sport in Tasmania.
“Sponsoring Baskerville Raceway gives us access to a new generation of sports stars, giving us the ability to teach them the importance of taking care of their health and fitness.
“It’s also important that the technology and infrastructure they use is of the highest quality, and we are proud to help Motorsports Tasmania with the work they’re doing.”
Helping the next generation is important, but Ben is particularly passionate about ensuring the benefits are extended to older enthusiasts as well.
“We hope that with this partnership, we can continue to promote our values within the motorsport world, and support the future of racing in Tasmania,” he said.
“Part of our focus on health is about longevity and healthy aging and a lot of the people within the industry have the potential to benefit from what we have to offer, and we look forward to taking this opportunity to share with them.
“We hope this is the beginning of a long partnership with Baskerville Raceway, and Motorsports Tasmania.”
Empowering the Next Generation of Motorsport Athletes
The collaboration was also a natural fit for Motorsports Tasmania.
General Manager Donald Potter said that when they were on the search for a new naming rights sponsor for Baskerville Raceway, Bulk Nutrients was “brilliant”.
“We weren’t necessarily looking for a big national or multinational brand, and when Ben popped up and said he and Bulk Nutrients would be interested it felt good, being Tasmanian,” he said.
“Having major sponsors on board like Bulk Nutrients for Baskerville and Buckby Motors for Symmons Plains helps keep costs down for our competitors, and they’re both well-known Tasmanian brands.”
The Great Tasmanian Dream
It can traditionally be harder for sports men and women from Tasmania to ‘make it’ in their chosen sport, and seeing a Tasmanian success story like Bulk Nutrients being proudly on display is hoped to inspire up-and-coming superstars.
“The business grew from an idea, to being a leading Australian company that’s talked about worldwide and that’s a real story of success,” Mr Potter said.
“That Tasmanian feel, of products made in the Huon Valley, traditionally known for its great produce, the aspect of employing local people and creating local jobs.
“It’s a goal those just starting to chase their dreams aspire to achieve, and to know they can do it is a real motivator”.
Improving Everyone’s Health and Wellbeing
There’s a growing focus in Tasmanian motorsports when it comes to improving physical and mental health and wellbeing, and working with Bulk Nutrients gives Motorsports Tasmania opportunities to spread the message further.
“There is a lot of athleticism behind what our competitors do,” he said.
“You need a lot of strength and stamina to control a car for a long period of time and under race conditions, it’s not just like driving a car up and down the highway there’s a lot of skill to it.
“The athletes racing all have water bottles in their cars so if we can have them adding in products like Protein Water it’s a win for all of us really.
"Helps them become stronger, and helps our sponsor.
“We all need to be fitter and eating better and it’s a way to keep that in the forefront of your mind.”
A Health First Approach for Coming Years
So far there’s already been one Bulk Nutrients activation held at Baskerville Raceway, something described as being incredibly popular, with planning underway for many more at events over the next three years of the partnership.
“Motorsport enthusiasts are starting to think more and more about their health, and men’s health in particular, so having this open discussion started is more valuable than we know,” Mr Potter said.
“As soon as people realised that Bulk Nutrients was there, there was always a crowd around the stall with people wanting to learn more about the products and their benefits and trying to get their hands on a sample.”
Benefits For The Wider Community
And with plenty going on at the Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway this year, it’s not all about motorsports. The site is growing in popularity when it comes to hosting athletic events like duathlons, given its perfect location with areas for running and cycling.
“It’s targeting everything we’ve got going on, and will be a real benefit to everyone involved,” Mr Potter said.
“Across both our sites we’ve got a real focus on improving people’s health this year and it’s something everyone should be talking about.
“It’s not just about those sitting in the cars, it’s the enthusiasts coming to watch, young and old.
“If all the people that come to our sites can leave with the ability to be a bit healthier, mentally or physically, it works out better for everyone in the long run.”
